“the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption of sonship, theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.”
The Israelites are God’s chosen people, and He has been their shield and portion throughout their long, and sometimes tenuous, existence. He has blessed them richly, as Paul points out in his letter to the Romans. Among the great blessings is “temple worship”. While all the other listed blessings flow from God to his people, temple worship flows from his people to Him.
Worship is our response to the Creator; for who He is, for what He’s done.
